US Cremonese has inaugurated a plaque in memory of Mario “Jumbo” Ghisolfi, the team's historic goalkeeper. The ceremony took place at the Sospiro sports field, where Ghisolfi played for many years.

Jumbo Ghisolfi was a US Cremonese goalkeeper from 1949 to 1961, collecting 264 appearances and becoming one of the team's most recognizable protagonists.

The connection to Sospiro

The relationship between Ghisolfi and Sospiro was very strong throughout his life. The town's sports field, which now bears his name, was dedicated to commemorate the human and sporting contribution of an athlete who represented the community beyond the field.

The ceremony
